UNAMA's SERTECH Team Wins 1st Place at INSERN Challenge 2022

In December 2022, the SERTECH team secured first place in the INSERN Challenge 2022, competing against other renowned institutions from Pará and achieving an impressive score of 86.75 points.

The Winning Team

Led by Professor Rodrigo Marques, the team represented the University of the Amazon - UNAMA with excellence:

Denis Cravo, Leonardo Costa, Michel Ribeiro, and Nandara Pinheiro.

The Challenge

A solution that identifies and maps suspicious criminal activities so that Public Security and financial institutions can devise preventive strategies to combat criminal organizations.

The big moment took place at the Pará Business Fair - 9th Edition, held on December 4, 2022. With Leonardo Costa leading the pitch presentation, the SERTECH group demonstrated technical excellence and communication skills.

The presentation led by Leonardo Costa received the highest score of all the teams.

Final Rankings

The judges' evaluation considered five essential criteria: challenge adherence, solution functionality, business model, innovation, and presentation quality. The final results:

1. University of the Amazon - UNAMA — SERTECH Team (86.75 points)
2. Passos Lógicos (82.75 points)
3. Égua Proto (81 points)
4. Açatech (79.75 points)
5. North Evolution (69.25 points)
6. Argonautas (63.75 points)

The SERTECH team particularly excelled in the challenge adherence criteria (26 points) and presentation (14 points), demonstrating deep understanding of the proposed problem and excellent communication skills.

This achievement brings visibility to our work as developers, my team was very happy with the victory. It was an honor to work with Denis, Michel and Nandara, in addition to dealing with the great responsibility of being before the judges to sell our idea, I believe we did a good job throughout the challenge.

Impact

The victory gained prominence on social media and in the academic community. Nandara Pinheiro shared the achievement on LinkedIn, celebrating the teamwork and dedication of all members. The third-place team, Égua Proto, was also featured on FacompCAST in an episode about how to get started with hackathons, showcasing the high level of competition.
